learn about it so that I can give it a good home. It will be kept on a lift. My question is-does the bilge pump have an automatic setting or is only on/off by toggle on dash?

It should have both. There should be an automatic switch wired direct to the battery with an in-line fuse. In addition to a manually operated switch at the helm.

check bilge pump fuse.Because of location by the battery it usually blows from water intrusion.
