2004 Hurricane Yamaha 150 4 Stroke - Speedometer stopped working

I bought my boat used recently so I'm still learning. Can anyone tell me if there is a paddle wheel or anything that might be clogged which would cause the speedometer to stop working? Or first steps I should take to test something. I don't even know where to start except I made sure the connections under the dash are still connected.

ausbill32, you probably have a plugged orifice in your lower unit. It is on the front, a very small hole. Poke it clear with a wire or small drill bit but don't remove any metal. There is a small hose that connects all the way to the instrument panel and you can check it for integrity and stoppage. Good luck.
