How long of a shaft should I use on a 2006 SD for a Minn Kota Ulterra auto deploy.

The propeller of the trolling motor needs to be able to drop a minimum of 12" below the water surface. On my 2012 SD237, I went with the 60" shaft to attain this criteria. It's best to be on the water to go through the measuring process. You will need to measure a distance from the surface of the front deck (where you have decided to mount the motor bracket) down to 1 foot below the water surface to determine proper shaft length.
