2017 Yamaha mechanical fuel gauge. Pegs to full reading only (150 hp) hurricane 188ss 2017

When engine is turned on the fuel gauge and all gauges peg to the top then goes back down to the bottom and then seeks the correct level EXCEPT the gas gauge which now only reads full all the time. What to check first?? Bad ground? Sending unit ?
