Why does my alarm goes off when I go over 2200 rpm?

My first boat. 2011 Hurricane Sundeck 201 ran just fine first time out. Today alarm goes off and the engine loses power. I shut it down and restart. As long as I go slow no alarm. All the gages look within normal range. Any thought?

The alarm has to do with the engine. I would suggest that you reach out to a local marina that services you engine model for further assistance

seems like an overheat condition. When was the impeller last replaced? Is this an outboard or an I/O?
