Attention! SD187 SD OB and SDS 188 OB Owners Please Read!

There already is a couple other posts on this forum on the subject but I feel that this is important enough to warrant a new one with an eye catching heading so the word gets out to all owners of certain model Hurricane boats. Highwater Marine LLC, which acquired Godfrey Marine the original manufacturer, has determined that SD 187 model boats and SDS 188 OB model boats built from 2009 thru September 2015 lack sufficient floatation foam and fail Coast Guard certification requirements. According to the recall letter sent to registered owners of these boats, if a swamping or hull compromising event occurs the boat will not float level and could capsize resulting in personal injury or drowning. Highwater states that it is offering a no cost warranty repair procedure thru its dealers which adds additional foam to the port and starboard areas of the hull. If you are an owner of this particular year and model Hurricane boat and have not received this recall letter you need to contact your closest authorized dealer or the manufacturer immediately at 888-463-3739. Please read the related posts on this forum to see how other owners feel about it.
