What performance can I expect from a 70 h.p. four stroke on a 1988 22' hurricane deck boat?

I just purchased a " modified " 22' Hurricane deck boat. The i/o was removed the transom filled in and it is ready for an outboard. I am hoping that a 70 h.p. would get it on plane and deliver 12-18 knots. The boat will carry no more than 400lbs. in body wait and not much else. My goal is to make this rig as light as possible hence the lower engine weight and reduced torque on the transom.

Has anyone had any experience with lower than average motors on theses boats. Thanks
