    Replacing carpet snaps

I have a 2003 Fun Deck 201 that has carpeting.  While pulling it up a few of the snaps broke.  We went to order some replacements, but we don't know the size.  Some snaps are listed at 1/4", others 3/8" or 3/16" for the posts.  We don't know where to measure the existing posts diagram shows measurement from the rim of the cap to the post.  There is about another 1/16" that could be measured from the base of the post.  Does anyone know what size is actually needed? My dog doesn't like sliding around on the floor!
