1994 Hurricane Fundeck 226 Gas Tank Questions

I am completely refurbishing a 1994 Hurricane Fundeck 226 and needs some technical advice concerning the gas tank. Considering the tank is 20 years old, what is the expected life of a plastic gas tank such as the one in my Fundeck?
If it is recommended that the tank be replaced, does Hurricane provide a template and/or instructions that would assist with this endeavor relative to where the cuts should be made?
