We have had this boat since new, and after the first two years of using it, the engine would always start off running a little rough, missing as you gave it throttle. We took the distributor cap off and noticed some corrosion inside, cleaned it and ran good...then now its started to do it again. We plan to do the same thing, but isn't there a better fix? Why doesn't mercruiser use gaskets on their distributor caps? Once its been out in the water, it seems to run a lot better as it possibly dries out from humidity or moisture inside the distributor. It would be nice to prevent this if anyone has any suggestions...I just hope its not a fuel injector...
