TACH ADJUSTMENT

MY TACH DOES NOT READ CORRECTLY.  CAN THIS BE ADJUSTED ?  YAMAHA 225 (4) STROKE ON SD 217

    The tach input comes directly from the ECU on the Yamaha engine.  Either you have a faulty gauge (most likely), or you will need to have the engine checked out by a mechanic.

    I'd bet that the problem is the gauge and not the engine.  It may be as simple as replacing the gauge.

    I have the same problem...  When the ignition is turned on, the tach doesn't move.

    Its dead set on 1

    Its a 2004 Sundeck w/ 225 Yamaha. This just happened this year.   So you think this is a bad tachometer?   If so what would you replace it with?
